But it does drive home a point. Dr Baldev Chaddha (Annu Kapoor) who runs a fertility clinic and a sperm bank in New Delhi's Daryaganj area aptly explains the reason for cases of childlessness (read infertility). 'Stress,' he says is the one major factor. 'Husband is busy at work, he spends three hours going through and fro and when he is home he is again immersed in work leaving no time for his wife.' On the contrary, he says, villagers are more potent with birth rate on an increase! The characterization and casting has a huge impact. In fact, that is the biggest plus after the 'out of the box' topic. The situations that arise sometimes have you in splits, and I believe it was never intentional. It's just the sheer genius of the actors and the director to let the situation be and go with the flow. More of that later, as we will first dwell on Dr Chaddha's problem at hand. CHECK OUT: Ayushmann Khurrana - Vicky is very much me Dr Chaddha has more failed cases to his credit than he can handle. The pressure from couples for healthy sperm is mounting and Dr Chaddha chances upon Vicky Arora (Ayushmann Khurrana) in his neighborhood. His vast experience tells him that he is the man for his job. He then begins chasing Vicky to impress upon him the need. Vicky's mother (Dolly Ahluwalia) runs a beauty parlour from home and has to constantly face questions from neighbours as to when Vicky will start working. Vicky finally gives in and when his sample test proves what Dr Chaddha believed, business booms for both of them. Suddenly, Vicky is flush with funds, not only from Dr Chaddha but also from happy parents who shower Dr Chaddha with money and gifts. Dr Chaddha passes on the 'bonus' to Vicky as well. No one yet knows Vicky's secret. Vicky soon pursues Ashima Roy (Yami Gautam) who works in a bank. He is a North Indian and she is a Bengali. Ashima knows that Vicky is a business man who deals in 'Handi'crafts', while Dr Chaddha is his business partner. Will she ever learn the truth of her husband's past. And if she does, what will the reaction be? Is it ethical to donate sperm and does children from the donor legally bind the father to the many children he could have sired? While the last question is not addressed, the ethical issues are looked into.

John Abraham isn't allowing his drive towards the cause of sperm donation to slow down. He has in fact gone beyond the theatrical run of the film and is now also participating in various debates around these topics. Not just that since quite a few fertility clinics and other hospitals have also shown keen interest in tying up with the film to help increase awareness and result in a model that allows 360 degrees participation from all involved.

"Just a week back I shared a common platform with some eminent doctors where we discussed and debated about commercial surrogacy and sperm donation. Also, some of the most notable fertility clinics and hospitals from all over the country are enquiring about how they can get associated with VICKY DONOR. I am happy to see such widespread reactions for the film because that says a lot about their belief in me as a person and a producer who is bringing such a subject in mainstream cinema. Now it is my turn to give something rational and sensible to the society," says John.

CHECK OUT: John Abraham won't donate sperm for commercial gains

While one waits to see how does the society end up gaining from the noble idea that is being brought to screen, there are definite gains in store for first timer Ayushmann Khurrana at least who has pretty much become John's blue eyed boy.

Smiles John, "Well, Ayushmann is a lovely boy and a complete natural. Trust me, he would be a winner after this film. I am going to be so proud of him. In fact let me also declare that I would be really convinced about the sanctity of the awards when Ayushmann ends up sweeping all the awards for the Best Debutant of 2012."

We would wait for that to happen as well John.
